Bethesda’sStarfieldcontains more quests than any previous title and is full of rich lore and content across all of its one hundred star systems. One of the busiest and most notable locations where players will spend a significant amount of time is the cyberpunk-styled Neon on the planet Volii Alpha. This vibrant city is home to many corporate entities and is particularly wealthy thanks to its relaxed trading restrictions. It is also the only location in the Settled Systems where people can legally take Aurora - thepsychedelic hallucinogen derived from the Chasmbass fishnative to the planet’s vast waters.

“The Audition” is a mission that provides a perfect insight into the everyday life of a Neon City resident and will ultimately lead the player into a gang war. The mission will start as a random encounter with a man namedDigger Zeminupon entering Ebbside at Madame Sauvage’s entrance (located directly behind the Starport elevator structure in Neon’s main strip). Digger explains the ongoingconflict between two rival gangs, The Strikers and The Disciples, and how it is causing chaos for the residents of Ebbside and how the Disciples are decidedly the worse of the two factions.
Madame Sauvage’s Place
Having spoken to Digger, he will ask the player for money in exchange for the information, but it is not necessary to pay him. After the conversation, players will be told to meet with the Ebbside strikers inside Madame Sauvage’s place, one ofNeon’s three main nightclubs. Upon entering, players will see a character standing near the bar named Andrea Sandoval, one of the lieutenants of the gang.
By speaking with Andrea, players are able toconvince her to let them join the gang, but she insists on leaving the decision up to the boss, Briggs. Following Andrea upstairs, players will be able to meet the boss, Briggs. If players insist that they wish to join the Strikers (the Neon Street Rat perk can be especially useful here), Briggs will then set them up with the task of stealing a data slate from The Disciples hideout in Warehouse 02, on the other side of Ebbside.
Warehouse 02
The fastest way to get to the warehouse is to go back up to Bayu Plaza and walk across, then take the elevator back down to Ebbside on the opposite side of the strip. However, it is equally possible to find the warehouse by staying on the Ebbside level. Once inside, players can either sneak their way through orkill everyone in sight. Briggs will approve much more of the stealthy method, but ultimately, players can still join the strikers if they kill everyone here.
If sneaking, it is best to move at a walking pace, andplayers with the “Sense Star Stuff” abilitycan use it to track the locations of the various enemies. There are three enemies in total, all of whom are quite easy to avoid and stay unnoticed. Players will then be required to retrieve theDisciple’s Slatefrom a small storage container in the warehouse. The container also has 860 credits and an Advanced Modified Magshot pistol inside.
Having completed this task, players can return to Briggs, at which point they will be rewarded with 5500 credits and the Strikers Maskwear apparel before being passed on to thenext mission for the faction, “Display of Power.”
