WWE 2K24’s Showcase of the Immortals mode looks to celebrate 40 Years of WrestleMania by having players relive some of the event’s most iconic matches, which makes it strange that Triple H is absent from the lineup so far.WWE 2K24has not announced all 21 matches that will be featured in the game mode this year, but out of the 18 that have been revealed, the Cerebral Assassin is nowhere to be seen.
Triple H is now a WWE executiveand leading the company’s creative vision, but he spent decades as one of the company’s top performers and biggest stars. Triple H was a fixture of the Attitude Era, serving as WWE’s biggest heel and a foil to popular wrestlers like Mick Foley, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, and The Rock. Triple H has had many high profile matches at WrestleMania over the years, including multiple main event appearances, so it’s understandable that some fans may be confused that he has yet to be confirmed for the game’s Showcase mode.
While there are rumors that the Kane vs. Triple H match from WrestleMania 15 might be added to the mix, so far, none of the officially announcedWWE 2K24Showcase mode matchesfeature him in any capacity. Triple H has multiple big-time matches that would fit in perfectly withWWE 2K24’s Showcase of the Immortals mode, like his trilogy of matches against The Undertaker or his one-on-one matches against Batista, John Cena, and Randy Orton that took place at various WrestleManias over the years.
WWE 2K24 Showcase Matches List (18 of 21 Announced So Far)
It’s unclear why Triple H has so far been left out of theWWE 2K24Showcase mode, but one possibility is that the mode does seem to favor more recent Mania events. For example,last year’s WrestleMania 39is represented by three matches so far. That being said, Triple H did make an appearance at a relatively recent WrestleMania, defeating Batista in a No Holds Barred Match at WrestleMania 35 that served as HHH’s last in-ring WM appearance and Batista’s final match.
Even though Batista is no longer part of WWE, he has been confirmed for theWWE 2K24roster, and so it seems like a missed opportunity if his match with Triple H doesn’t make the cut for the game’s Showcase mode. In any case, with three matches still yet to be announced, there’s always a chance that a Triple H WrestleMania match could still be revealed for theWWE 2K24Showcase of the Immortals mode, whether it’s the Batista bout, the rumored Kane match, or something else entirely.
