Developer Naughty Dog shared a post on social media that includes a trailer forThe Last of Us Part 2 Remastered,along with an announcement of several new features, including a roguelike survival mode titled “No Return,” playable lost levels, and guitar free play. This, of course, is in addition to updated graphics and various quality-of-life improvements such as faster load times.

The headliner among the announced new content is the No Return roguelike survival mode. No Return takes thecharacter-defining combat fromThe Last of Us Part 2, and asks players to survive as long as possible. The new mode will feature several unlockable characters, some of which have never before been playable in aLast of Usgame. The survival mode will take place at various memorable locations from throughout the game.
Additionally, players will have the chance to venture through three different early-development versions of lost levels fromThe Last of Us Part 2with developer commentary. Lastly, a guitar free play mode will expand on the fan-favorite feature from the original title. Not only canLast of Us 2players use the guitar to play real songsas they did on the PS4 version, but gamers will reportedly have opportunities to unlock additional instruments.
Of course, gamers would argue that there are a slew ofolder PlayStation exclusives that need remasters more thanThe Last of Us 2. That said, the new features make this a much more compelling title than originally thought.
