Just weeks before the release of the highly anticipated sequel,The Last of Ushas gone on sale for less than $10. Both long time fans of the game and newcomers to the series alike shouldn’t miss this opportunity to get their hands on one of themost influential games of the decade.
For newcomers that aren’t as familiar with the phenomenon that isThe Last of Us, it tells the emotionally charged tale of Joel, a gruff survivor in a zombie-like apocalypse, and Ellie, the only person alive who is somehow immune to the virus. Their journey is full of heartfelt and tragic moments supported by masterfully designed gameplay.

Though the game originally released back in 2013, its sequel,The Last of Us 2, releases on June 19th after beingindefinitely delayed for a while. This serves as a sort of last call opportunity for players that haven’t completed the first game to get it and play through it before the second one arrives.
As a general rule,The Last of Usis widely considered a masterpiece of storytelling. Its detractors are few, and those that do exist usually focus too heavily on their disdain for certain inclusive elements in the story. This has played a role in public opinion ofThe Last of Us 2as well, as followingmassive leaks spoiling its storysome fans were unsure of what to think. Ultimately, though, it seems that the sequel is on track to do incredibly well. This is one instance where things won’t make much sense without playing the first game, though.
Interested parties can find the deal on Amazon.com, where physical copies of the game are being shipped for free at $9.99. Since this is the remastered edition, it will come on PS4 and include theDLC, Left Behind, which gives more detail and depth to Ellie’s backstory as well as introduces her friend, Riley. For 10 bucks, it would be hard to justify not getting this absolute gem of a game, with the exception being those that have already played it or own it.
The Last of Ushas released twice, once on PS3 in 2013 and once on PS4 in 2014, but wasfree on PS Plusnot long ago as well. There’ve been multiple opportunities to get the game, but this is the most recent and most financially viable option at the moment.
