Step into the dystopian world of Panem inThe Sims 4forThe Hunger Games Legacy Challenge created by Im-Not-A-Ro-bot. For this challenge, fourteen different generations of Sims unravel a saga of survival, strategy, and sacrifice. As each Sim ages up into a teenager, they must face the daunting prospect of being reaped from their districts and forced into the arena to fight to the death in The Hunger Games.
This challenge isn’t for the faint of heart, and certainly not for those who grow attached to their Sims, but for those who arewilling to shed some virtual blood. It promises an immersive, intense experience that pushes the boundaries for those seeking a newfound appreciation forThe Sims 4.
The Reaping
Every year, the Capitol organizes a Reaping to pick one teenage male and one teenage female tribute from each district to compete in the annual Hunger Games. Whether they come from the player’s household is up to chance. The creator of this challenge suggests using a die or a random number generator to decide the tributes. Players of transgender, non-binary, and genderqueer Sims can decide the odds for themselves.
The Hunger Games
After The Reaping, the tributes are sent to the arena to fight to the death until a single victor remains. Players can instantly kill their Sim after the reaping, roll a die according to the odds listed in each generation, or experiment with a custom online wheel. There are, however, several mods that allow Sims to simulate violence, likethe Extreme Violence Mod by Sacrificial. For total realism, gather all twenty-four tributes (including townies and NPCs) in an arena and enable autonomous killing for everyone to see which tribute is the last standing victor.
As consolation for winning the Games, the tribute escapes with their life. They also receive 50,000 simoleons and celebrity status. Players withThe Sims 4: Get Famousmay cheat the victor to a three-star celebrity and move them to a Victor’s Village-style mansion for the remainder of their lives.
Generations
The following information lays the groundwork for each generation of the challenge, beginning with the Capitol and ending with District Thirteen. The Capitol is exempt from participating in The Hunger Games, but players can select townies or NPCs to compete if they so choose.
For the rest of the generations, one surviving child from the family must continue the legacy by becoming the heir. The creator includes short stories about each personality and requirements, including details about trait selection, aspirations, and careers.
