Fans won’t get to seeThe Witcherseason 2 until 2021, but that hasn’t stopped some information about the show from leaking online. The latest rumor claims to reveal one of the monsters that will be seen inThe Witcherseason 2, and it’s a creature that has never appeared properly in the book series.

According toThe WitcherNetflix news site Redanian Intelligence, the show’s second season will introduce the leshy monster. Leshys are mentioned inThe Witcherbooks but are never actually featured in a story. The best look fans have gotten of them have come fromThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, where they are referred to as leshens.

Fans have also seen Leshens outside ofThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. They were a part of theMonster Hunter/Witchercrossover event, and can be encountered inThe Witchertabletop game as well. Considering how much leshens have been used inWitchermedia, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise for them to show up inThe Witcherseason 2.

Besides confirming that the leshen or leshy will be inThe Witcherseason 2, Redanian Intelligence also reports that the creature will have a major role in the show. Apparently, an encounter between the leshy and one of the characters will have “serious consequences” for the plot moving forward. Redanian Intelligence stops short of specifying exactly which character will encounter the leshy, however.

IfThe Witcherseason 2 does indeed feature leshy, it will be interesting to see what they look like. It’s possible thatThe WitcherNetflix series will take inspiration from the video games when it comes to bringing the leshy to light, but that seems unlikely. After all,The WitcherNetflix series went to great lengths to avoid making theNilfgaardian armorlook the same as their video game counterpart, though that resulted in some mixed reactions from the community.

In the meantime, it remains to be seen what other monsters will appear inThe Witcherseason 2.The Witcherseason 1had a variety of creatures that the characters encountered over the course of the show, including djinn, dragons, and more. One has to imagine thatThe Witcherseason 2 will look to up the ante when it comes to monsters, though that remains to be seen.

The Witcherseason 2 premieres in 2021.
