Summary

True to many experiences a player can come across inElden Ring, this one player’s first invasion experience couldn’t have been funnier. Games likeElden Ringshine when they take advantage of the surprise factor many players face in them, always trying to get the jump on them when they least expect it, though sometimes even the game can’t expect some things, likeElden Ring’s Malenia still fighting after death. Further expanding upon this is the PvP ofElden Ring, where in this instance one player gets an unexpected first invasion experience.

From strange builds to thoseElden Ringplayers hiding beneath bats, there is plenty to be found away from the game’s singleplayer in its multiplayer. One almost never knows what to expect when they are invading or being invaded. Instead of the usual AI controlled enemies, it is a person behind an opponent whose attack patterns aren’t recognized that become more frightening than that of The Lands Between.

In this case, a player finds themselves in quite a lucky predicament for their first PvP experience. Posting to theElden Ringsubreddit, user Keen4AMix uploaded a video of their friend’s first time being invaded. In the video, it seems the player is not bothering to fight back, as it shows the player getting kicked over and over by the invader until they fall off the cliff. However, when they do fall off, they get caught on another cliff’s geometry that puts them just out of reach of most players, especially those that like to use the kick as their main mode of attack.

The player decides to stay there, and watches as the invader attempts to inch their way over as they want to try and kick the player off the ledge. However, this doesn’t turn out for the best, as the invader kicks themselves off the cliff, dying from a fall that only some could survive, like thisElden Ringplayer falling off of Stormveil Castle. Thus, the player, who did literally nothing to fight back, is declared the winner. Many in the comments found this outcome just as funny as the players, while a small few others mostly took notice of the character’s large nose deforming the helmet.

Elden Ring’s combat is as wide and varied as the land the game takes place upon, but in some cases there are unexpected factors that prove themselves the decider in many battles, and in some cases it’s luck. No matter how many builds a player can make, or how many times aplayer beatsElden Ringwith only a torch, luck will almost always be a presiding factor, whether it’s on their side or not.

Elden Ringis available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
