Controversial live streamer JustAMinx has been banned fromTwitch. After it was confirmed yesterday thatTwitch was planning to ban JustAMinx, the streaming platform has today followed through on its plans. With almost 2 million followers onTwitch, JustAMinx remains one of the biggest streamers on the site. Her YouTube channel also has a large following of over 700,000 followers, and it’s expected that her content could continue there until the Twitch ban is lifted.RELATED:Twitch Has Banned BruceDropEmOff Yet AgainThe news of JustAMinx’s ban from Twitch comes via the StreamerBans Twitter account, although it was no secret that the platform was planning to ban her. The ban comes after a live stream in which JustAMinx was visibly intoxicated, breaking Twitch’s rules on being “incapacitated on stream.” In the clip, she began slurring her words, and eventually dropped the bottle that she was drinking from. Unfortunately, this isn’t JustAMinx’s first ban from the platform. In February 2022,JustAMinx was banned from Twitch for using a “derogatory slur"on stream, a ban that only lasted a week.
JustAMinx’s ban will be short, after it was confirmed the ban would only be for seven days. However, she’ll be unable to take part in promotional activity for 90 days. Twitch has a history of giving streamers plenty of chances before a permanent ban is handed out, and it looks to be the case here. The streamer’s history of bans doesn’t just stop at Twitch, however. Late last year,JustAMinx was banned from using Airbnbafter the streamer claimed to discover a drug den underneath her rented house. She was also removed from TikTok three times in one month, due to mass reports, so it seems that this has been going on for some time. Hopefully, this most recent ban is the last.
It seems as though Twitch is constantly clearing up drama and banning streamers for a variety of reasons. Even the biggest creators seem to have trouble avoiding issues on the site, with high-profile streamerMizkif being banned from Twitchmultiple times since the turn of the year. However, it’s extremely rare that huge creators will receive permanent bans from Twitch, especially with up-and-coming competitor Kick emerging. The site has even managed to land popular streamer Adin Ross, after Twitch banned him for the eighth time. It remains to be seen how successful any competitor to Twitch can truly be, such is the site’s domination of the live-streaming field.
