Released on May 29,V Rising’s Hot Fix 5 addressed many bugs, added a new control layout for controllers that supposedly favors more convenient camera controls, and implemented graphical updates that should result in better performance. Some items were affected by the patch as well, such as the late game Soul Shards, which will now be automatically destroyed if left on the ground for more than 60 minutes. Hot Fix 5 also added Vietnamese localization and tweaked the balancing of several bosses, but many of the latter changes will only apply inV Rising’s Brutal difficultythat was added in the title’s 1.0 build.

Much likeV Rising’s Hot Fix 4that was dropped on May 22, the latest update adjusted some parameters of the fight with the game’s final boss, Dracula. Specifically, Hot Fix 5 reduced the damage of the Immortal King’s Vampiric Curse, decreased the number of extra projectiles that spawn during his second phase, and made the Blood Crystals no longer fire bursts, among other things. The patch notes, however, stated that these tweaks were primarily co-op changes.

Dracula was introduced in 1.0 alongsideV Rising’s new Ruins of Mortium regionlocated east of the game’s setting, Vardoran. This area is teeming with hordes of the vampire lord’s minions, including the recently added bosses, General Elena the Hollow and General Cassius the Betrayer. The region is also a great place to farm for Stygian Shards and Greater Stygian Shards, which are needed to craft jewels and unlock passive abilities.

V Risingmakes its console debut on June 11when it launches on the PlayStation 5. Those who pre-order either the game’s Complete Edition or the bundle that includes The Legacy of Castlevania DLC will be able to play starting June 6, giving them five days of early access to Stunlock Studios' popular RPG.
