With its unique spin on a classic formula, Team Ninja’s latest foray into the ‘soulslike’ genre,Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, shows why the developer is so beloved among gamers looking for a real challenge. With several seriously difficult encounters,Wo Long: Fallen Dynastyprovides a perfect experiencefor those wishing to see more ofSekiro’s fast-based, deflect-and-parry heavy combat. And if some players find the challenge to be too much, Team Ninja has found something of a solution that has benefits for all players.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynastyfeatures a reinforcement system that allows players to choose from a list of available NPCs, calling them in to help throughout a stage. Aside from offering help with combat, the NPC will also provide the player with some of the game’s best gear, but only when the player reaches the maximum bond level with the character. Because of this fact, even players who prefer to play solo will find the reinforcement system beneficial. Byusing Tiger SealsandCups of Cordiality, players can master the reinforcement system, earningWo Long: Fallen Dynasty’s best possible gearin the process.

What are Tiger Seals?
Tiger Seals areWo Long: Fallen Dynasty’s basic currencyfor calling in reinforcements. The player can have up to two NPCs accompany them through a stage. During certain quests, one or both reinforcement slots will automatically be filled by a character related to the story.
However, these characters can be replaced by one of the player’s choosing. It will cost the playerone Tiger Sealeach time a reinforcement is called in. When the player dies, any reinforcement that was not automatically provided will expire, meaning the player must use another Tiger Seal if they want to call the NPC into battle again.
Where are Tiger Seals Found?
While it is possible tofind Tiger Seals in the glowing loot caches, the most common method of acquiring them is by avenging the death of another player. This is an incredibly simple task that requires the player to simply kill the enemies with a glowing purple aura around their morale rank.
A tell-tale sign that these enemies are close by is the number ofBurial Flags. These are the flags with a similar purple glow. Killing these enemies will not always reward Tiger Seals, but dealing with them is the best way to quickly build a Tiger Seal stockpile.
Players who use this strategy, along with thoroughly exploring each stage, will amass enough Tiger Seals to last the entire game.
How to Use Tiger Seals in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty:
To use Tiger Seals, the player must interact with a Battle Flag. Near the bottom of the Battle Flag menu, look for the ‘Reinforcements’ option. Entering that section will bring up the list of available NPCs. Not all characters will be available for every stage. When a player selects the NPC they wish to summon, selecting them will bring up a prompt explaining that one summon will cost a single Tiger Seal.
When picking an NPC to summon, look at its strengths and weaknesses.Using theFive Phases Affinitiesas a guide, look for those NPCs whose strengths are in different areas than the player’s. This will make it far more likely that someone in the party will be able to oppose an enemy’s elemental affinity.
