Summary
World of Warcraftis introducing multiple recolors of the iconic Tier 1 armor sets from Molten Core in Season of Discovery Phase 4. BetweenMists of PandariaRemix,CataclysmClassic, and Season of Discovery,World of Warcraftplayers have had the opportunity to enjoy their favorite MMO in more flavors than just vanilla. However, it could be argued that the approach to reinventing old content has paid off the most in Season of Discovery, as the developers took full advantage of the concept.
Season 4 is expected to add aBlackrock Eruption event to Season of Discovery, which will make the Searing Gorge a more hazardous place – while also offering players a chance to earn gold and reputation with the Thorium Brotherhood, or even gain a large amount of Honor for kiling other players within Blackrock Mountain. This is all a prelude to the main attraction of Phase 4, which is expected to be its Molten Core raid. Unlike the previous stages in Season of Discovery, Phase 4 will finally bring players to the level cap, and class balance will play a far bigger role.
This Molten Core will be a redesigned instance, made with 20 players in mind, and boasting all-new versions of the Tier 1 armor sets. Given that Season of Discovery not only introducednew specializations toWorld of Warcraft, but also made lackluster classes viable, it only makes sense to create more varied armor sets that players could fully benefit from.As datamined by Wowhead, Season of Discovery will be adding several Tier 1 recolors across all classes, and players can preview the models in 3D ahead of launch.

The new armor sets boast some popular color schemes foreachWorld of Warcraftclass, though it should be noted that the original Tier 1 appearances will also be featured in Season of Discovery. While some players were hoping that Blizzard would keep the iconic color scheme across all Tier 1 variants, manyWorld of Warcraftfans are wondering if the newly-introduced versions will make their way to Retail in the near future.
While there is no exactrelease date for Phase 4 of Season of Discovery, it is the first phase available for public testing. The gap between Phase 3 and Phase 4 is already longer than any other stage in Season of Discovery, but it should be noted that Phase 4 is by far the most ambitious content update for the game mode yet. Hopefully, players won’t have to wait long, as Molten Core remains one of the most iconic instances inWorld of Warcrafthistory – and Season of Discovery is perfectly positioned to provide its definitive version.
