World of Warcraft: Shadowlandsaltered a lot about the 16-year-old game. Players now have access to the afterlife of Azeroth, along withCovenants like the Night Faethat give players special class-specific abilities and several new ways to play. One of these is Torghast, a rogue-like dungeon inShadowlands, that will soon be getting a bit of a revamp from Blizzard.
Torghast: Tower of the Damned is an evolving dungeon with randomly-generated levels or layers that players can traverse solo or in groups of up to five other players. Each layer is a higher difficulty than the one below it, with rewards getting better as the levels get harder. Players can earn Soul Ashto craft legendary armor inShadowlands, some strong purple weapons and armor, and other useful items. But someWorld of Warcraft: Shadowlandsplayers have made some complaints about the way to dungeon works, and Blizzard has decided to make some changes.

The changes center mainly around enemy health and damage output to increase player’s success rates in Torghast. Some classes found that both soloing and grouping up for the rogue-like dungeon too difficult, and these changes are designed to help all players be able to potentially get through even the most difficult layers ofTorghast: Tower of the Damned. These changes are also designed to allow players more choices in how to defeat enemies. One of the biggest changes is that major class cooldowns will reset for each layer, giving even the longest cooldowns a little more usefulness in the dungeon. Also, some unique, boss and enemy powers have been nerfed or their cooldowns elongated.
In an official post about the updates, Kaivax wrote that: “We’ve made surgical changes to address pain points. This week, with the opening of a much more difficult section of the tower, we’ve seen a great deal of feedback from players that we feel is best addressed with a whole slate of updates.”
Most of the changes are currently live; the rest should be live before the end of the day on December 18th, 2020. Hopefully, this means that the next time most players take their toons through the dungeon, they will get further and have access to even more rewards from bosses, enemies, and lever- andpuzzle-locked chests in Torghast. Hopefully, Blizzard continues to keep their eyes on the community, and they continue to make small changes to ensure thatWoWis fun and player-friendly.
