The return of MyGM mode inWWE 2K22was welcomed by many fans, and while it was not perfect, it was the perfect format for developer Visual Concepts to improve from there. 2K and Visual Concepts recently revealedWWE 2K23, and it looks to be doing just that: improving the already solid experience.
WWE 2K22’s MyGM Mode had a few things that held it back from true greatness. One of these, the lack of tag team championships, wasadded in a post-launch update forWWE 2K22,but one major issue was the focus of one season. While players could always start up another MyGM mode playthrough, each one was effectively done once they were finished with a season.WWE 2K23’s MyGM mode not only fixes this, but adds even more to the experience.

WWE 2K23 MyGM Mode Features Multiple Seasons, Custom GM Option
As aforementioned, the biggest changeWWE 2K23has confirmed is the inclusion of “multiple” seasons. It’s not certain yet if there is still a limited number of seasons or if players are basically able to start new seasons with one playthrough ad infinitum. Nonetheless, it is definitely a step in the right direction for the game mode, which also features more GMs than before. InWWE 2K22,players could choose from Adam Pearce, Sonya Deville, William Regal, Shane McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, or use a custom superstar, butWWE 2K23features “more GMs to choose from.” It’s not certain who or how many more, but players will also be able to use a “custom GM creation,” suggesting this is something different from a custom superstar.
In addition to these changes, players will also have additional show options, expanded match cards, and more match types for up to four players, truly showing how much attention Visual Concepts has paid toWWE 2K23’s MyGM mode. Many fans will want to see it in action before making any ultimate judgments though, but it does sound promising. After all, MyGM is but one component ofWWE 2K23.
It is also introduced anew game mode based on WWE’s WarGames, which sees players compete in 3v3 or 4v4 matches (against others or CPUs) in two side-by-side rings, surrounded by a steel cage.WWE 2K23’s Showcase mode features John Cena’s 20-year history too, where players step into the shoes of his opponents, and of course, MyRise, MyFactions, and Universe all return too.
WWE 2K23releases on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on March 17.
