While the addition ofMadden NFL 24to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate might lower the appeal of its predecessor, the previous entry in the franchise won’t necessarily be leaving Microsoft’s subscription service anytime soon. That’s suggested by the fact that all of the recent installments in the franchise have enjoyed prolonged Xbox Game Pass Ultimate stints, ranging from 18 months to two years. In fact, bothMadden NFL 23and22are still available on the service as of February 2024. Given that state of affairs, the imminent arrival of the latest franchise entry might only result in an immediate removal ofMadden NFL 22from Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, while the 2023 installment will remain available for the time being.

Some football fans are likely to welcome the continued availability of last year’s game, which is still held in higher regard. In contrast,Madden NFL 24has been flooded with negative reviewsfollowing its release, with many players taking aim at its monetization practices and polish, or lack thereof.
