Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duelhas announced a pair of new events set to run during May, featuring the return of one of the game’s most popular events. Since the launch of Konami’s massively popular digital TCG in January 2022, the developer has pushed regular updates to the online card game. Each month typically sees a new Selection Pack andSecret Packs added toYu-Gi-Oh Master Duel, bringing a plethora of cards from the game’s physical formats into the online simulator. Now, May will play host to a pair of events for the digital trading card game.
Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duelregularly runs a variety of events within the game, offering players an alternative way to play with special deck-building restrictions. Many ofMaster Duel’s “festivals” revolve around a particular Extra Deck type, such as limiting players to building decks with only Fusion Monsters or only Synchro Monsters. Some events even include more unusual restrictions, like the “Legend Anthology” events focusing around cards and deck types from theYu-Gi-Ohanime. Now, two ofMaster Duel’s previous events are coming back for another run.
Konami recently announced the two featured events forYu-Gi-Oh Master Duelset to run in May, with both the “Limit 1” and “Fusion x Link” Festivals returning. The “Limit 1” event features one of the most unique deck-building restrictions ofMaster Duel’s events, with players only able to include one copy of each card in their Deck. “Fusion x Link” focuses around the previously-mentioned Extra Deck restrictions, with players only able to use Fusion andLink Monsters in their Extra Deck. Limit 1 Festival is scheduled to begin on May 14, while Fusion x Link Festival will launch on May 20.

Both ofMaster Duel’s newest events are set to come with plenty of rewards, including exclusive cosmetics for achieving certain milestones. Earning 3500 points withinMaster Duel’s Limit 1 Festival will reward players with exclusive Field Parts for their Graveyard and Banishment, themed around the “Magical Thorn” Spell Card. The Fusion x Link event grants players card sleeves based on “Aleister the Invoker of Madness” for reaching the same point total. Both will alsorewardMaster Duelplayers with 950 Gemsfor progression in the events, alongside extra rewards for special Event missions.
Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel’s new events come as the game’s competitive scene is in the midst of a “Tier 0” meta. The dominant “Snake-Eye” strategy has stood as one ofMaster Duel’s strongest competitive decks since the archetype’s release in February. Snake-Eye’s dominance has been seen acrossYu-Gi-Oh’s multiple different formats, with arecent banlist update from theYu-Gi-OhTCGaddressing several Extra Deck cards used in the deck. Limit 1 and Fusion x Link Festival will give players a unique new way to play the beloved card game.
